What does it take to get into MIT?

Being a girl doesn't help your chances. MIT requires outstanding gpa (3.8-3.9+) 32+ACT and a ton of EC's. Not only does it require that, it also requires luck. You cold have a 4.0 with a 31 ACT and still get rejected. Just do your best in high school, keep your grades up, make friends have a good time and get into a great college. You are only a freshman don't sweat it!
