HELP!! my expert witness has dissapeard in my court case?

3 years ago my aunt who is a diabetic was incarcerated (it was only supposed to be for 10 days) well the whole time she was there she kept asking for her insulin she told a guard "I am already blind in one eye, I dont want to lose the other" well she had to sighn a medical release form 3 times they still never gave it to her. Well on the 7th day not having any She asked them again and after dinner they called her up to the front at 11 at night and gave her her medicene well a couple hours later she came back and asked how much medicene they gave her and she thinks it was way too much. well long story short it made her go into a diabetic coma and she died for a short time but they were able to revive her. Well she filed a law suit against the jail and some of the staff members. The case goes up for trial in 3 months and now the doctor who is the expert witness has dissapeard and they cannot find him. and her lawyers say that she should settle for 18,000 when before the doc went missing she was going to get 1,000,000. She died! and they want to drop it bec they cant find the expert witness! What can we do??? please hurry and respnd PLEASE!!! It is a clear violation of civil rights and I want her to get what she is owed
